Strategic Plan

The Strategic Plan integrates information gathered during the Community Assessment process, and outlines a direction for the agency moving forward.
The document addresses the areas that SNHS will focus on over the next three years to function more effectively as an organization, and improve our ability to help people move toward self-sufficiency. It includes strategies and goals in five key areas, including responding to the ongoing impact of the COVID crisis.

Susan Valaitis - Human Resources Director

.Susan Valaitis is the Human Resources Director at Southern New Hampshire Services. Susan comes from the for profit sector with over twenty five years of management experience as the Director of Operations for a $200M manufacturing organization. In her roles, she was responsible for the management of customer service operations, and business processes and functions. She developed and executed projects/business plans, integrated and aligned requirements with corporate business functional areas and distribution channels/ customers. She also implemented ISO 9000 procedures, and provided financial analysis, and communicate state-of-readiness for operations service programs.

In addition to her position in the for profit sector, Susan was the CitiStat Director for the City of Nashua where she was responsible for performance statistics and analysis of operational department functions, reporting, process mapping and industry metrics. Susan also took on the role of interim Human Resources Director while working as Citistat Director for the City of Nashua. In this position she managed department functions with 16 unions and 2800 employees.

Susan has a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Organizational Communications and has completed graduate courses in Business Management.

Deanna Marston - Administrative Assistant

Deanna came to Southern NH Services in 2004 through our Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program when Tyson Foods (formerly JacPac) closed their doors to 520 employees.  She worked for SNHS as part of that grant to help those dislocated workers find work and education.  Deanna was then asked to fill the Administrative Assistant position in late 2004.  She has continued to work with our program directors wherever and whenever needed.

Deanna resides in Manchester with her husband, enjoys their grandchildren's activities and is passionate about her crafting experiences.

Mark Johnson - Information Technology Director

Mark Johnson is the Information Technology Director at Southern New Hampshire Services. In this role Mark oversees the agency’s entire information technology infrastructure and is responsible for advising the executive and administrative staff providing technology leadership.

Prior to joining Southern New Hampshire Services, Mark has held several leadership roles in information technology and has a diverse background in both non-profit and corporate settings. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the planning, development, delivery, and monitoring of technical solutions that address the needs of SNHS in support of their mission.Mark attended Boston University receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and holds a variety of technical and professional certifications. He is a long time resident of Nashua and enjoys his family, skiing and anything outdoors.

Al Burton - Housing Director, South

Al Burton came to Southern NH Services in 2010 after 28 years as a Security Business Systems Analyst in the private sector.

Al has taken on and mastered many positions in the Housing program to include Maintenance Technician, Office Assistant, Office Manager, Nashua Area Coordinator, and Facilities Supervisor.  He is a Certified Occupancy Specialist and Certified Tax Credit Specialist.

By 2019 SNHS had acquired thirty-one housing sites necessitating two Housing Directors. Al’s knowledge built over his almost ten years at the agency, makes him a great fit for the Housing Director South position.

Al is married, with two adult children and one grandson, along with a few granddogs!
