RSVP Bone Builders volunteer training scheduled
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Bone Builders, is currently recruiting volunteer leaders for its popular osteoporosis exercise program.
A leader training workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 9:30am-3:00pm at Davidson Landing II, 145 Ledge St., Nashua.
No prior experience is necessary and the workshop and all classes are offered free of charge. Once trained, instructors are asked to lead classes twice a week at designated sites.
Anyone interested in taking the training to become a volunteer instructor should call Dee Martin, Volunteer Service Director at (603) 668-8010 to reserve a place in the workshop.
RSVP is a program of Southern New Hampshire Services.
Currently offered in six locations in Nashua and Manchester, additional trained leaders will allow the RSVP Bone Builders program to expand to additional Hillsborough County locations.
RSVP Bone Builders relies upon weight training to protect against fractures caused by osteoporosis by increasing muscular strength and bone density. A balance component is designed to avoid fractures that often result from this disorder.
